Lennox Lewis v Panos Eliades

Jeffrey Green Russell acted on the UK enforcement of a $7million New York judgment between Lennox Lewis, the undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion, and Lewis’s former manager, Panos Eliades. The enforceability in the UK of the judgment was, however, tainted by the United States’ RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act of 1970. The Court of Appeal confirmed that multiple judgments are not enforceable in this country.

The case also featured an application to quantify damages on a cross-undertaking supporting a worldwide Freezing Order.
