employment
Led by partner Mark Spragg, the Employment Group advises on all employment issues - from shop-floor and trade union problems to boardroom disputes - and including restrictive covenants, executive immigration, workplace discrimination, contractual variation, employee benefits, trade union legislation and industrial relations through to data protection and pensions. Clients include both the employees and the management of companies within a broad range of sectors: property, entertainment, retailing and manufacturing.
The team applies a practical, business-focused approach to both contentious and non-contentious matters. We have an in-depth understanding of the importance of issues such as the need to protect underlying business and customer relationships when senior employees leave. We also have the resources to take control of critical situations as and when the need arises.
We recognise the benefits of prevention as well as cure. We work with clients at each stage of the employment process to formulate employment and HR strategies to pre-empt issues before they arise. In doing so, we consult closely with directors and human resources managers and develop a keen understanding of our client's business and priorities.
Staff members are the greatest resource of many of our clients. We will happily arrange seminars and training on employment law, regulation or EU legislation, on your premises at your request.
