Licensing law has been a key specialisation of Gareth Hughes since the 10 years he spent as Chief Advocate to the City of Westminster followed by 5 years as the Deputy Head of the authority’s Legal Services Business Unit prior to joining Jeffrey Green Russell in 2002. He also has a wide knowledge and keen interest in many other aspects of public and private law ranging from landlord and tenant, employment and planning to health and safety, environmental health, social security and local authority finance: expertise that has involved him in high-profile cases at all levels up to the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords.
