Philip Harris
Head, Private Client
Philip Harris is head of Jeffrey Green Russell’s Private Client team. A lawyer with long experience of this practice area, Philip’s strengths lie in the preparation of wills, administration of estates, the creation and administration of trusts, and charity law. Importantly, he has a thorough understanding of the machinations of the Inland Revenue and the bearing of tax upon his clients’ financial affairs. Philip combines technical expertise with a sensitive approach to issues such as divorce or serious illness and when assisting in the administration of the estates at the difficult time of bereavement. Clients include families, trusts, charities and high net worth individuals, many of whom have interests outside the UK. Philip has been a regular lecturer at the Swiss Institute of Accountants in Zurich speaking on Anglo-Saxon trusts. His topics have included “The Uses and Abuses of Trusts,” “The Characteristics of a Common Law Trust” and “Innovations in Offshore Jurisdictions.” He has been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners for some seven years, and regularly contributes to legal journals and periodicals on private client-related issues.
