As one of the first UK law firms to understand the significance of information technology and its impact on UK companies, the Technology and E-business team has an unusually long heritage of expertise in acting for both UK and international clients in this specialist business sector, as well as in assisting well-established companies that are new to online retailing or using technology to enhance their core operations.
The team has extensive knowledge of IT-related issues and so has been involved in drafting service provider agreements, reseller and interconnect agreements, and the terms of use relating to the operation of Internet Service Providers, websites, Internet auction sites and online gaming sites: the latter in close association with our colleagues in the Gaming and Betting Group.
We also act for and advise business-to-business exchanges, software developers, website designers, Internet "matchmaking companies" - where ideas and funding are matched - and new business "incubators".
